 None that I'm aware of... I didn't install the system myself, but I would
 be surprised if it was anything other than a stock CentOS install that
 happens to have kernel version 2.6.18 - there's nothing else like a
 desktop involved on this machine until I started using it.*   If there's
 anything you think might be stock installed, I can try and disable it
 (particularly if you can point me to instructions.)

 Again, I apologize if this was fixed since 2.5.2 and I missed it.

 To clarify: Without using Plain Text, I cannot copy from EITHER the
 already-sent parts of the conversation OR the newly-entered-unsent parts
 and successfully paste them into the new entry part.


 - For reasons that I'm sure may seem weird, it's running on a remote
 CentOS openVZ vhost I'm connecting to via VNC.  But I'm NOT talking about
 copy/paste in and out of the VZ/VNC etc.  I'm talking about copying from
 pidgin to pidgin, using either CTRL-C CTRL-V OR using right-click menus if
 I don't use 'plain text'.  And this problem is completely limited to
 Pidgin for me.
