Comment:

 As I asked the reporter of #7343, you need to get the XML traffic involved
 both from when this works and when it doesn't. Without seeing that there
 is nothing anyone can do here.

 Also, #7343 is in fact not the same bug as you are reporting as it works
 exactly the other way. See comment:ticket:7343:2 where he explains that hs
 is complaining about libpurple based clients not seeing status updates
 from non-libpurple based clients.
