 I am using pidgin 2.5.2 on PCLinuxOS for the Yahoo! protocol

 I have taken the .gif emoticons from yahoo messenger 8.1 and i edited
 the "theme" file. The problem is that when i use these emoticons, pidgin
 doesn't always show text or emotes in the chat window. However, if i try
 to select that text, it shows up. I don't know if this is a gtk problem
 (using gtk 2.14.4), a pidgin problem or something with those .gif files.
 This is a problem as old as the first versions of pidgin; i think i even
 had the problem on the old gaim. I have to admit that i haven't tried
 other .gif emoticons (non-yahoo). I hope this is a fixable bug...
