 StudiVZ or rather Nimbuzz, the company that offers the StudiVZ chat
 ability uses XMPP.

 You can use the StudiVZ chat right now with steps explained here (in
 german):

 I didn't test it but it seems to work for others, although right now it
 doesn't pick up your contacts automatically but you have to add them
 manually.

 What this means is that it's definitely possible to implement and no
 protocol it doesn't even have to be reverse engineered.

 Unforturnately I am no programmer and can't do anything to implement it
 but if someone is interested I can at least translate the steps how to
 utilize the current XMPP plugin.
