 I can confirm this on Windows XP SP3 with Pidgin 2.5.4 and no desktop
 enhancements with the default Windows XP theme.  It resets to a normal
 window on every minimize (manual and automated when away) but is in the
 same position when restored.  The only way to redock it is to click and
 drag it away from the screen edge, release the mouse button and then click
 and drag it back.  It also occurs on a clean Pidgin/GTK+ install with the
 default preferences, just enabling the Windows plugin and switching on
 dockable.

 I thought this was a known bug as it has been happening since upgrading to
 2.5.4 otherwise I would have reported it earlier.
