 On a Fedora 9 system with all patches current as of 16-Feb-09, under Gnome
 Pidgin fails every time it is started. This problem started just after the
 last system update.

 New information: This issue only affected one user on the system and
 rebooting made the problem go away. May have had a hung process under that
 user name. Log out, and re-log on under that user did not fix the problem.
 Log on under a different user could use pidgin. After reboot I could no
 longer reproduce the problem.
