 When a new message is received the notification symbol is shown on the
 system tray icon. In some cases this notification disappears after a
 while. The conversation seems to be closed, the only way to read the
 message is by looking into the contact's log (that is if you know that you
 received a message and which contact has sent it). I observed this several
 times in the current windows version (2.5.4) as well as in a previously
 used linux version (don't know the exact version).
