Comment:

 What are the Privacy Settings for your AIM account set to? Off the top of
 my head, it sounds like you have it set to "Only allow the following
 people: <list of everyone on your buddy list>" or "Only allow the people
 on my buddy list" and there is a bug somewhere that isn't updating the
 allowed list. But I don't know the privacy code and that's just a guess.
