 I can't get my status message to work. If change it, it shows it changed
 in the Pidgin main window but it never changes for friends. It is also
 "Available".

 I confirmed the same result with gtalk/Jabber and Yahoo.

 I've disabled all plugins (I'm only using a few) but have the same result.
 Restart. Same result.

 The status message tested was a single word with no special characters
 although I've never got it to work with any message.

 I could not find a FAQ or another ticket on this.
