 If someone who is experiencing this problem could test whether it happens
 with the official yahoo client it might be helpful.  I don't have access
 to any Windows machines at the moment, but I will test this at the first
 opportunity.  If the official client manages to get around this
 restriction, then surely there's something else which could be implemented
 in Pidgin, no?  It seems like it must be part of the protocol.
 Regardless, some users are still experiencing the issue, so this bug
 report should stay open.  A plugin which simply submits the credentials to
 login.yahoo.com when this error is detected would certainly be a nice
 stopgap solution which I will take a look at doing.
