 The problem with doing this is that I'm not at all sure we can reasonably
 be sure we know what people think a given smiley means. One of the main
 problems with icons (of any sort) is that they are simply not as
 expressive as text and as such are open to interpretation. It would
 certainly be something we could support to allow theme authors to specify
 short descriptive text for a smiley in the theme files but there is no
 guarantee that's what the people using it mean when they use it.
