 Assuming the oscar prpl knows that it is sending an offline message as
 opposed to sending an online message I see no reason we can't display such
 information to the user. I do think that it will rather rapidly become
 unnecessary and annoying for people who never knew AIM didn't have offline
 messages and are therefore surprised to be informed of this information
 when no other protocol informs them of it.

 I really do want to lay the blame for this horrible user interaction
 problem at the feet of the incredibly broken 'invisibility' support that
 most protocols have, especially those which historically have not allowed
 offline messages.

 No amount of invisibility detection is acceptable in pidgin, presenting
 information about the fact that a message was sent as an offline message
 is acceptable for this case because it is, as has been commented on
 already, quite a radical departure from what was previously available.
