Comment(by fastoy):

 The last two attachments Pidgin1.JPG and Pidgin2.JPG are from a different
 instance of this failure. I attached them to show the error dialog box
 from the MSN identities trying to connect and then the Windows error
 dialog box when Pidgin failed. The same MSN connection error occurs in
 2.5.2 but Pidgin doesn't fail.
