 If you want this fixed then you need to lobby the GTK people at
 http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=543209  Their software has the
 bug, not pidgin. I have pointed out to them exactly what they are doing
 wrong, but it seems no one there cares enough to actually fix it in their
 code base.
