 The eee pc has a 1024x600 display.

 Because the preferences dialog is static size it is not possible to see
 the [ ok ] [ cancel ] [apply] buttons at the bottom of the preferences
 dialog because they go off the bottom of the display and there is no way
 to drag the window up past the top of the viewport to make the buttons
 visible.

 I presume this will be problematic on other netbooks (Dell, Acer, HP)
 which have similar displays.

 Proposed fixes:

 * Make the preferences window a full window rather than a tool window so
 that Alt, Space, M may be used to activate window motion, followed by use
 of the arrow keys to reposition the window.[[BR]]
 * Make the window re-sizable.[[BR]]
 * Make the window shorter and wider.
