New description:
In pidgin 2.5.2 (I refuse to upgrade to 2.5.3, as that newer version does
not exit properly for me, see http://developer.pidgin.im/ticket/7849 for
details, although I believe that this problem has not been solved in
2.5.3), my settings for "set me to invisible after X minutes of being
idle" does not hold through restarts of the program.
I have moved my .purple folder to a network location using the environment
variable (which seems to be working just fine). I can see in the XML files
that my setting changes to "invisible" (int 1230441770 on line 33 of
prefs.xml) when I ask it to, but then reverts to 1230443925 after I close
pidgin.
I looked but could not find any other tickets with this problem. If you
want some of my files, just ask.
