New description:

 It opens a couple windows, then is unresponsive eating all the CPU for
 abuot 3 minutes, then opens another window and then hangs for several
 minutes again, etc etc.  Below is the stack during one of the hangs.  I've
 attached the debug log. Notice the large time gaps, thats where it was
 unresponsive eating all the CPU.  ... Now after about 10 minutes or so it
 seems to be operating normally.  I know things run slower in Windows but
 wow ;)  It's on a 1.7GHz Pentium.
