 I don't like your suggested middle-ground, I think the buddy should either
 move or not move. Since you don't like moving, and I mostly agree that
 moving a buddy who is 'signing-out' is slightly incorrect that leaves only
 "not mov[ing]" as an option as far as I'm concerned. Unfortunately, I'm
 not sure how easily this can be done as once the status of a buddy has
 been switched we don't have any indication of what their old status used
 to be. (Your suggested solution neatly avoids this issue, but I find the
 concept of considering 'signing-off' as a status in its own right odd.)
