 This is why I initially marked it as an enhancement rather than a plugin
 suggestion. If Pidgin logged based on a variable that gets updated
 whenever the status changes the overhead would be tiny (i.e. checking a
 boolean). In fact overall it would be more efficient because the program
 would have to make fewer A/IO calls if the user is away some of the times.
