 Have a look at the GtkWidget docs. It describes how tooltips are intended
 to be used in 2.12+. As i believe the GtkTooltip api is intended to be
 replaced by this.

 Only after briefly experimenting with the code I don't believe the
 GtkTooltip implementation to suffer from lingering issues.

 I've been working with the Win32, as well as the Linux build, to fix some
 of the linger problems and will be posting patch's as I come across them.
