#8291: Issue with IRC, Sluggish, Timing Out, Error, and Not Realtime

Type: defect | Status: new
Component: IRC | Version: 2.5.4

I'm a new user to Pidgin (Approximately 30 Minutes) I enjoy it at the
moment however I am having an issue with IRC.
I am using 2.5.4 on Windows XP. I have no plugins installed and it is the
default install.
'''The Problem:''' lines of text instead of appearing in realtime as any
other IRC client they come in chunks. Instead of each line appearing as it
is typed, it dumps multiple lines at one time. Also some lines from
chatters do not even appear, or are out of order compared to my other IRC
client. Pidgin will then time out after a short period and I will lose
connection to the server I'm on and then will reconnet once I type
something in the chat window. Almost as though it is treating the IRC
window as a IM window, instead of a life realtime chat feed.
I joined the chatroom hoping someone might be able to help out but the
person I chatted with was stumpped.
'''Testing:''' I have Trillian I currently as my IRC client, I also have
xChat that I didn't care for. I'm using Trillian and Pidgin on the same PC
connected to the same servers. In the pidgin chatroom the individual
trying to help me asked if anything showed up in the debug window. At the
time nothing but after I let it sit (Whilst I had dinner) I got the
following repeated erorr in the debug window.
(18:16:12) GLib: g_main_context_check() called recursively from within a
source's check() or prepare() member.
Normally I would have moved on to a different IM client to try out as I
want to move away from Trillian, but in the brief time I've been working
with it I like it.
I would be more than happy to do some additional testing if necessary.
Along with a network/traffic trace.
