 no...pidgin is installed on a common fileserver between machines A and B.
 I try pidgin on A, and it crashes. From A, I telnet to B, run pidgin on B
 with DISPLAY set to A. And it works. I also know that if I log into B, and
 display directly to B, it works. Once I set the font in prefs.xml, it
 works in all scenarios.
