 System Desc:
  * Ubuntu 9.04 Desktop version;
  * HP 6730s laptop with 2 Gigs RAM;
  * Pidgin 2.5.8;
  * Vodafone router.

 Bug:

 For more than one week now I have been trying to login to my google talk
 account and every time it fails. Attached is the error produced.

 Steps taken:

  1. I checked the latest bugs, and I found a ticket for a similar bug, and
 a link to disabling router to act as DNS, but I tried to login using:
 fring 3.37.20 (12/03/2009) on Nokia E51, 200.34.36 (24-4-2008) and it
 worked like a charm..
  2. I double checked my password on pidgin and logged in from
 www.gmail.com using firefox, and again everything was OK.
  3. I tried:
    * removing and adding the account
    * disabling yahoo and msn accounts and solely try google's account

 N.B:
  * I used the same Vodafone router for all my logins.
  * The same bug is reproduced on CentOS 5.3 32 bit, with pidgin 2.5.5-3
  * I noticed a trailing slash "/" at the end of google's account whenever
 I create it. This is not found in both yahoo or msn accounts

 All the best,
 Angie
