 I'm having this problem too.  I'm not sure what you mean by "choose the
 Cedilla input method".  Using the English-Internatonal keyboard in
 Windows, typing 'c yields ç in most programs, but ć in pidgin.  Why is
 this?  I can copy ç into an IM window and send it but I don't know what is
 making Pidgin interpret 'c as ć.
