New description:
I often have two IRC channels open in the same Pidgin windows. One channel
is more urgent than the other.
After I switch task (WinXP) to another application, the taskbar button of
the Pidgin IRC window will have as title the IRC channel tab that had
focus last time. The problem is that if an IM arrives from the other
channel, the taskbar button will flash but its title will stay the same.
I know that I can drag out the urgent channel to a separate window, but it
would be nice to have the taskbar button title change to the last channel
that said anything. Same for windows with IM tabs.

Comment(by dandv):
@deryni: the last sentence was so long that I'm not sure I understood
correctly what the complaint is. Overstimulation from notifications
perhaps?
I've also suggested in another bug 5268 that flashing should be
configurable per tab.
IMO, it's visually deceiving for a taskbar button to read "#eclipse" and
be blue, when if you click it, it turns out that Pidgin has received a
message in another channel.
