Comment:

 I plan on merging this branch back before 2.6.0 is released; I need to
 test all my changes.

 This serves both as a reminder (to me) and as an arbitrary ticket to put
 on the 2.6.0 milestone so people stop saying "Oh, I see there are no
 tickets left open on the 2.6.0 timeline, when are you going to release?".
