 I get theis error quite quickly every time onn starting Pidgin. I noted
 this error this error (see title) yesterday. Before that it was working
 ok. Today I tried Pidgin again- same error.

 I've made some changes, installations, uninstalled, nothing specifically
 related to Pidgin. Today I upgraded to IE7.

 XP SP2 now with IE7.
 Pidgin 2.14 with GTK runtime from Pidgin 2.02 (as advised as a work-around
 so it works with QQ)

 I've tried an over-the-top reinstall of Pidgin only. I'm not sure how I
 could easily reinstall the older GTK only.

 Advice welcome. Thanks, dal987

 (Just noticed- component Bonjour - I just updated Safari, and uninstalled
 Bonjour. IS Bonjour essential to Pidgin?)

Comment(by dal987):

 Hi, yes, please feel free to close it.

 After a major incompatibility with QQ arose, and lack of jpg transfer,
 (reported elsewhere) I finally found a usable English version of QQ, and
 have stayed with that ever since.

 Thanks
