 Still can be reproduced in 2.5.8 on windows xp.  Turning the transparency
 plugin off works as a workaround.  Closing and reopening doesn't do
 anything, the chat windows get restored as black.  Only after clicking
 around and trying to highlight the text in the black windows will bring it
 back.  But it works only for a short while before turning black again.
