Comment:

 I believe this works reasonably well, at least for me. I've been having
 DSL modem issues here, and MSN, Yahoo, and XMPP all notice the internet
 died and will reconnect when I bring it back up. I've actually been having
 problems with AIM not figuring it out, though.
