Comment:

 In Pidgin 2.5.8 (and Pidgin 2.6.0, when it's released), the code for
 certificate verification has sufficiently changed that, if this is still
 an issue for anyone on this ticket, please get a ''new'' debug log showing
 the verification process (and resultant error).
