 phannent, I know you like to build custom windows builds of Pidgin. Could
 I convince you to build one with this patch applied for testing?

 If not, Twain28, could you try to reproduce this crash both with Pidgin
 2.5.8 (where I assume it will still crash) and then Pidgin 2.6.0 (which
 will have this "patch" from me which should stop the crash). In both
 cases, please get debug logs (see TipsForBugReports) and attach them to
 this ticket.
