 some very valueable plugins are disabled by default.
 i would call the "Release/Update notification" one
 as highly recommended for anybody.
 i further would suggest to even support an "Update" entry
 attached to the "Help" menu so that can be found in
 a rather similar way like many other programs.

 I even would recommend the installer to provide the
 default of having this plugin activated and the user
 beeing able to de-select it. Other than that, i think
 popping up with the plugin listing on first startup
 after install might be very helpfull since new plugins
 might have been added or the user at all is not aware
 of the current richness of these components.
