 Okay so I am Running Windows Vista Ultimate and I don't think the OS
 matters, but how I fixed is it by switching my font to "MS Mincho" which
 is the default Japanese font. I'm not sure about any other Asian Langauges
 but I would think it work the same but with the default font for whatever
 language that is. Most Asian fonts have an English side so I think you'll
 be okay.
