 FYI, I found the concept of costelas plugin just awesome (thanks for
 that!!!), and since KDE4 uses dbus as well I started an attempt to make a
 KDE4 version. Since I failed to do so, I provided costela with all infos I
 have and hope he can point me to my mistake. If that works, I will post my
 patch here. Who knows, if costela likes that, it might go into his project
 directly ;)
