 When a contact name includes smiley characters, it shows up using the
 smiley in the conversation windows.   I first noticed this with the siplcs
 plugin where a contact like sip:Dave would be displayed as sip at ave  (where
 "@" in in this case is the smiley for ":D")

 I don't think it's specific to the plugin however, as I can do the same
 thing for other protocols if I set an alias like ":Dave"
