 I was capturing some packets because I noticed my friend's yahoo buddy
 avatar was outdated.

 I noticed yahoo messenger would use this server:

 http://98.136.112.115/avatar.php?yids=<nick>

 While pidgin would update the avatars via this server:

 http://67.195.134.213/msgr/*weird numbers*--/.friend_icon.png

 Although the latter seems more secure because you must be logged in to
 retrieve the avatar, sometimes when the user updates the avatar the server
 is slow to update, or just doesn't update the avatar at all. And, other
 people are stuck with your old avatar.

 The reason I'm posting this is because I noticed that when I log into
 pidgin I get the old avatar; however, when I log into yahoo messenger or
 yahoo webmessenger I receive the updated avatar.

 Therefore, there is an inefficiency in pidgin with retrieving latest
 avatars as opposed to yahoo messenger and webmessenger.
