Comment:

 This "patch" (attaching the modified file in its entirely does not make it
 a patch; a patch is generated by the diff utility) is unacceptable.  This
 is nothing more than an ugly hack that ignores the fact that many proxies
 can and do handle SSL connections perfectly well.
