 I'm running Windows 7 RC (Build 7100), though I expect this to be a bug in
 Vista as well, and the on-screen keyboard does not input text in chat
 windows.  I've also tried Dasher, to the same effect.  These programs act
 like they've input text, suggesting predictive words, but nothing appears
 in the chat window.

 Other programs accept these alternative input methods fine.  Also, Pidgin
 on Ubuntu Jaunty and Debian Lenny accept text properly, leading me to
 believe this is specific to windows
