Hey at the moment in IRC when i want to find out what client someone is
using i would enter in the command /version <username>.

When i do it to myself I get given: '(notice) Received CTCP 'VERSION
Purple IRC' (to holdenss) from holdenss'

What I am proposing is to have something similar to colloqoy gives out:
 '(notice) Received CTCP 'VERSION Colloquy 2.2.1 (4132) - Mac OS X 10.5.6
 (Intel) - http://colloquy.info' (to holdenss) from ...

I know this may not be a big issue but would help for people to know what
version of adium I'm using and what OS update i'm up to instead of seeing
 that I'm using Purple IRC.

 What are your thoughts?

This will require support in LibPurple. Please file this report on the
Pidgin Trac. @zacw said to post this from adium trac.
