 I'd forgotten we do that on XMPP. I know we've gotten complaints about
 privacy stuff with IRC, I think we got one or two for XMPP but XMPP
 doesn't have the culture of exploit awareness that IRC does.

 Personally, I don't mind having IRC expose the libpurple version, and
 would be willing to try doing it again, but I wold fully expect people to
 complain again. I'm also just not convinced that it matters one way or the
 other.
