 This is by far the best explanation I can come with: [[BR]]
 Adium from 1.4b uses different yahoo login procedure, pidgin with this new
 login procedure is yet to release, so pidgin 2.5.6 use older login
 procedure like Adium 1.3.4, hence they show same error.
 I have no idea why you were not able to copy paste, for me I can copy
 paste the url with pidgin 2.5.6. The url is provided by the older login
 procedure as the address of the captcha, this you know happens in case of
 account being locked.

 It might have happened that for some reason your account got locked. Hence
 Adium 1.4b and Pidgin 2.5.6 reported errors, different because they use
 different login methods. Account lock gets removed when you login into the
 website (for checking mails or just to see if there is some lock, or even
 to ask support if you account was locked). Once you login, thereafter real
 yahoo messenger (even Adium or Pidgin) lets you login. So if you would
 have used rela yahoo messenger before logging to yahoo website you would
 have got the error.[[BR]]

 The fact that other yahoo account on the same software (ie using same
 libpurple underneath) works fine, says that it was account specific
 problem. So it doesn't appear to be a bug.

 Said that I would close the ticket.
