 This is still an issue with the latest build of Pidgin.

 Trying to block a person via Tools>Privacy Settings by adding them to the
 'Block only the users below' results in the same error message in the
 debug logs. The blocked user is still able to message me.

 Is this a bug in Pidgin or some kind of limitation in the way Pidgin
 interacts with the AIM servers? I seem to remember being able to block AIM
 users in Pidgin some time ago which makes me think something in Pidgin
 changed.
