 I have the same problem from a few days, im using pidgin 2.5.5 (from
 mandriva 2009.1) the same problems exist with kopete.

 surprisingly i can still log in to yahoo with pidgin from my xandros on
 eeepc900 but right after login it gives me a message there telling this
 version of YM will stop working after august.

 i will boot into xandros and give mmore details soon.
