 I believe this might be a duplicate of #7010, but it was closed due to
 inactivity. I have a little more information.

 These crashes have been plaguing me for quite a while, but I only recently
 decided to build a debug version of pidgin. I have no idea what causes
 these. Sometimes it would be after I open up the new messages link and
 then close it, but it doesn't happen all the time. I haven't found anyway
 to consistently reproduce this problem.

 I just noticed that yesterday you came out with 2.5.7, but I looked over
 the changelog and the closed tickets, and none of them seemed to be
 related, so I didn't upgrade for this bug report.
