Comment:

 Can you upload a log of this happening? I can't see how it would, and
 would think that if this were the case pidgin would never correctly build
 without gstreamer support (as our tests for it are fatal by default) and I
 build without gstreamer support correctly. Unless your claim is that
 gstreamer is linked to silently without our tests running, but that's not
 what you seem to be indicating.
