 How to reproduce the bug:

 1. Start Piding and wait until a buddy sends you a message.
 2. The pidgin icon in the systray becomes orange. Open the chat window and
 see the message.
 3. Give the focus to the text control and hit a key. Then (sometimes)
 Pidgin crashes.
