 I'm on Solaris 10, and was having the same problem with 2.5.7. What I
 found was that for some reason, the library ssl-nss.so couldn't find all
 of the called libraries (use "ldd ssl-nss.so"). Everything appears to be
 compiled correctly. The workaround for me is to setenv LD_LIBRARY_PATH to
 include /usr/lib/mps, which is where all of these libraries live on
 Solaris 10. Take a look at lib/purple-2/ssl-nss.so and see if this is the
 problem.
