Comment(by Veveve):

Stupid me. I didn't see that 2.5.8 was out. That was fast... a couple of
days ago 2.5.7 was released :))[[BR]]

I have '''Windows 7 ver. 7229''', '''Router''' with''' uPnP''' active and,
if this matters, the '''''STUN''''' field filled with
 '''stunserver.org'''[[BR]]

I've tested with a few of my friends the transfers.[[BR]]

 Transfers worked with the following:[[BR]]
 - YC v9.0.0.2152, OS Windows XP + Router;[[BR]]
 - YC v9.0.0.2162, OS Windows XP SP2, no Router;[[BR]]
 - YC v8.0.0.508, OS Windows XP SP3, no Router; (this was YC beta at that
 time, i think)[[BR]]
 - YC v8.?.?.?, OS Windows XP SP2, no Router;[[BR]]
 [[BR]]
Transfers didn't work with the following:[[BR]]
 - YC v9.0.0.2162, OS Windows XP SP3 + Router, uPnP NOT active; (lazy
buddy. probably didn't hit the "accept" button :| and rejected the
 transfer directly)[[BR]]
 - YC v9.?.?.?, OS Windows Vista (no service pack version available), no
Router (this guy is a stupid noob. he knows just basic stuff about
 computers (hardware and software)[[BR]]
 [[BR]]
I can't test right now to see if the new Pidgin version works well on my
ubuntu 9, but I believe that the transfers '''work''' as they should work
if the person '''receiving'''/sending the file is '''not''' a total
'''noob'''. I had to explain extensively how to click HELP >> About to
find out the messenger client version. Some didn't manage to do this and
 didn't respond to further messages.[[BR]][[BR]]

So... only the human factor can determine an abnormal behavior of
 different pieces of software.
