 XP SP 2. First time user had sent me an im -- so he wasn't already added
 as a "buddy." When i replied, i got the msg that he was no longer on.
 Later i did unrelated hard shutdown of the machine. Hmmm... that might
 explain it right there -- the log was created and available in my logs
 folder but i still couldn't view it when trying to do that from Pidgin
 under the Buddies drop-down menu.
