 I'm having exactly the same problem it appears to be problem with
 "Clearlook" them.
 I'm using windows XP sp2 - pidgin 2.5.5 - GTK+ Runtime 2.14.7 rev a.
 As I tried to send file throw MSN pidgin crached until I changed to
 "Bluecurve" them, and that solved the problem.
